OVER 2900 BRANCHES NATIONWIDE

First County FCU is pleased to announce an innovative new service. Shared Branching through Credit Union Service Centers. Shared Branching is a program in which First County FCU members can conduct basic transactions in the branches of participating credit unions as if they were at First County FCU.

In effect, this brings you over 2,900 First County FCU “branch offices” nationwide. Transactions available in Shared Branches include:

  • Deposits
  • Withdrawals
  • Check cashing
  • Transfers between accounts
  • Loan payments
  • Money Orders and Travelers’ Checks (in most locations)

This new service will be a distinct advantage to First County members who spend extended periods of time in other parts of the country (i.e., during the winter months), or those traveling who find themselves in need of credit union services. Location guides to Shared Branch credit unions nationwide are available at our office at 1100 W 11th Street in Muncie, or online by following the Shared Branch link at www.firstcountyfcu.org before you travel.

We are in the beginning stage of changes that will make First County Federal Credit Union stronger, more accessible, more comprehensive and more competitive than ever. The new Shared Branch service is a great new member benefit, and just one part of what’s to come!

Dormant Account Policy

A “Dormant Account” is a Regular Share (savings) account in which there has been no activity for a period of one-year or more. Activity is defined as a deposit to, or a withdrawal from, the account. Accounts which are classified as dormant, and have a balance of less than $300.00, will be charged a monthly dormant account fee of $5.00. This fee will be assessed each month the account remains dormant.

To avoid having your account go dormant, it is recommended that you periodically transact business through the account, i.e., make a deposit of at least $1.00.

All Regular Share account holders receive a quarterly statement of the activity in their account(s). It is recommended that you review your quarterly statement to ensure that you are not in danger of having an account being classified as dormant.
